Our Principals

Joseph M. Raffaele, MD

 

Chief Medical Officer

...provides physician training and support. In 1995 Dr. Raffaele began researching and developing a scientifically-based treatment program and co-founded PhysioAge Medical Group. In 2003 he designed a system of biological age measurement using a set of biomarkers highly correlated to age. He recently designed and conducted the study of 83 participants that enabled the development of the PhysioAge Systems algorithms and software.

Dr. Raffaele received his B.A. from Princeton University and his MD from Hahnemann University Medical School in 1989. Dr. Raffaele did his residency at The New York Hospital/Cornell University Medical Center and was formerly a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Dartmouth Medical School while in practice at the Hitchcock Clinic. Dr. Raffaele is a member of the American College of Physicians, is board certified in internal medicine, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Ronald V. Livesey, MD

 

Founding Partner

...provides physician training and support. In 1995 Dr. Livesey began researching and developing a scientifically-based treatment program and co-founded PhysioAge Medical Group. Since 1997 he has been exclusively focused on anti-aging medicine and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Dr. Livesey graduated Phi Beta Kappa & Magna Cum Laude from UMass/Amherst, and received his MD in 1972 from Tufts University School of Medicine. He did his residency at St. Elizabeth's Hospital/Boston, was a member of the clinical faculty at Tufts Medical School, and was a staff physician with Dartmouth's Lahey Hitchcock Clinic. Dr. Livesey is a member of the American College of Physicians, is board certified in internal medicine, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine.

 

Jerry Fortunato, MBA

 

Chief Operating Officer

...leads and manages all operational and business aspects of PhysioAge.  Since joining PhysioAge in 2002, Jerry has been responsible for business strategy, marketing & branding, finance, product management, patient relationship management, systems design & development and information technology support.

He received his BS in Finance from Rutgers College and his MBA from Rutgers Business School. He is a Project Management Professional and holds a certificate in E-Business from Baruch College. He spent 10 years with AT&T, where he was responsible for a $4.2B product line for mid-sized businesses. Prior to joining PhysioAge, Jerry directed Product Development at a Madrid-based software company focused on the information technology needs of airlines.

Jochen Kumm, PhD

 

Chief Technology Officer

...customizes the PhysioAge Systems software for each physician client. He. designed and developed the software platform as well as the algorithms used to calculate physiological ages and the overall PhysioAge®. Dr. Kumm is currently developing a sophisticated medical data modeling engine that will ultimately drive the system's intelligent reporting function.

Dr. Kumm holds a Physicum in Medicine from Heidelberg University, a BA in Biology from Harvard University and a PhD in Biological Sciences from Stanford University. In addition to his role as Chief Technology Officer of PhysioAge Systems, Dr. Kumm is the Director of Biomathematics at the Stanford Genome Technology Center in Palo Alto, CA.
